Collaborative Opportunities

Umbra offers a number of options and levels of collaboration. We can assist with short-term and semester-long faculty-led programs, Maymesters, J-Terms, embedded programs, and more. We can even develop a curriculum and find qualified instructors to teach courses using syllabi supplied by your university.

One of the most popular options is having faculty-led programs inserted into our summer session, thereby allowing students to take one course with the visiting professor and the option of choosing a second course from among the Umbra offerings. Joining our sessions means students (and faculty) will not be part of a traveling island program, which often is the case with faculty-leds, but be part of the vibrant Umbra community alongside our many students and faculty. We can even add faculty-led courses to our semester or summer offerings so that you can add to the diversity of your classroom, and assist with the recruitment of students.

Contact us with your program dates, destination, budget, and field trip preferences; or schedule a call with us so that we can chat about which ISI Abroad program locations and excursions best complement your desired learning objectives and budget.

Your University’s Courses Taught at Umbra

Need hard-to-find electives for programs in Italy? Does your faculty-led require another course? Perhaps faculty cannot attend the scheduled program, or you just require a specific study abroad curriculum for your students? Umbra can help! We will be pleased to discuss your curricular needs and develop the courses together; we can even use your university’s syllabi and assign a qualified instructor to teach them.

Support Services & Facilities Use 

Just require classrooms and/or student or faculty housing? Would you like to have Umbra’s student services and e-phone available for your students? Umbra has a spacious and well-equipped facility available for rent for a day, a year, or longer. We can even embed your study abroad program at ISI Abroad, including office space for faculty and staff.
