Flight – The Umbra Institute – Study Abroad in Italy

The Umbra Institute will provide free shuttles from the Fiumicino airport (Rome) to Perugia on the day of the arrival(see Academic Calendar here-clicking opens a new window.) Please arrive in Fiumicino before 2pm if you would like to take advantage of this shuttle service. If you arrive in Rome later than 2 pm on the arrival day, we can provide you with further instructions on getting to Perugia.

Pre-program travel notice*

I understand that, for immigration purposes, I should NOT enter Italy more than 3 days before Arrival Day, but that I can travel more extensively in the Schengen Area should I choose (not applicable to Schengen Country passport holders).

If I decide to take advantage of the free shuttles to Perugia, I understand I’ll be given a time to meet the staff at the airport in Rome on Arrival Day.

IMPORTANT: Please don't forget to check with your airline to see if you will need to recheck your bags during any international layover. It is also important to remember to get your passport stamped at customs in the first Schengen Country you pass through. If you fly directly from the U.S. to Rome, then your first Schengen Country is Italy and you should get your passport stamped on arrival. If instead you have a layover in Paris, France, you must get your passport stamped at that airport.
